Hey, Sir Thomas Malory wrote the whole Morte DArthur in jail. Knights and whatnot were always getting captured and thrown “in thrall” if they sided with the “wrong” faction trying to overthrow the “right” faction.” That’s where we get our English word “enthral.” It means literally to be captured and held prisoner.
